Started in 1928 by Leo J. Muza, Sr., Muza Sheet Metal Company created a niche market by doing a variety of sheet metal work, including heating, ventilating and dust-collection installations. The business operated for years from its original location at 206 High Avenue in downtown Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Following the tragic and untimely death of Leo J. Muza, Sr. in 1953, the company’s leadership passed onto his son, Leo A. Muza, Jr., and his son in-law Aloys A. Schuster.
Under the new leadership, the company diversified in 1957 by entering the metal fabricating market. The metal fabrication division of the company became known as Muza Metal Products Corporation. This division of the company moved to its own location at 606 E. Murdock Avenue, Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1961.
Leo Muza, Jr. and Helen’s husband, Al Schuster, operated both Muza Sheet Metal Company and Muza Metal Products Corporation until 1976. The companies then separated, and Al and Helen (Muza) Schuster became owners of Muza Sheet Metal Company.
Al Schuster’s sons, Charles and Thomas Schuster, bought the company from their parents in 1985 and in 1992 relocated the business to its present location at 51 W. Fernau Avenue in Oshkosh’s North Industrial Park. A 10,000 Sq. Ft. addition was completed in 1997, bringing the total square footage of the building to 20,000 Sq. Ft.
In 2003, Muza Sheet Metal Company expanded their industrial ventilation areas and welcomed Carven Blanck as a partner in the business. In 2008, Thomas Schuster retired, leaving Chuck Schuster and Carven Blanck as owners.
In 2009, Sam Blanck became an owner in the business, opening new dimensions for the company's Architectural Design department. Together these three leaders have done an impeccable job joining forces and creating new opportunity for the future of the company.
In most recent news for Muza Sheet Metal Company, as of October 1, 2011, Chuck Schuster has sold his portion of the company to Carven and Sam Blanck entirely. He will remain with the company as the Chief Financial Officer until his retirement. As a company, we are proud and happy for both Carven and Sam for their new opportunity to continue to compel the company in the promising path for generations to come and we thank Chuck Schuster for the legacy that he has had a hand in creating over the last few decades and for the continued success of the company.
